Yuanlin- Sun Moon Lake


This lake is the largest body of fresh water in Taiwan and revered as sacred. It is a big tourist sight- and was dually crowded on this Saturday we went. You are only allowed to swim in the lake one day a year, and otherwise can only take tours in it by boat. The water of the lake is clear turquoise blue and is really stunning with the large mountains surrounding it.



This is the island that is in the middle of the lake - we took a boat out to it and walked around.
