Taipei 101

Formerly the world's tallest building- the Taipei 101 stands in the middle of the city like a sore thumb. It is massively tall. We went up to the top- very fun.

The view from about a 1/2 mile away.
The bottom 5 floors is a super ritzy mall (yep 5 floors!) with D&G, Versace, Burberry. Fancy pants.

View from the top. This gives you an idea of the huge sprawl of Taipei city. Up 89 floors.

Worlds fastest elevator! 1010 meters/ minute! It took about 45 seconds to travel up the whole elevator and you ears popped a whole bunch.
Asian hi-tech. This floor was touch sensitive. As you walk across it the clouds move. It was supposed to make you feel like a bird I guess?

This is the huge wind damper technology that makes the building not sway or shake in the high winds or earthquakes. And of course you need an Asian cartoon character to really get the feel.
