
Sun Yat-Sen was the founder and leader of the Republic of China- this was the democratic government established in China prior to the Communist Revolution. After Sun Yet-Sen's death Chairman Mao led the Communist Revolution and expelled Sun Yat-Sen's right hand man- Chiang Kai Shek to Taiwan. Both China's Communist party and Taiwan's Nationalist party view him as the father of their countries. There's your history lesson for the day.
