Dali is a town surrounded by farms and small little shops. The family we've been visiting took us around to see the country and meet the people. And of course, when you meet someone new, you do it over some tea.

Very old family grave- it is very elaborate and expensive. It reminded me of Mulan.
We went to a wood carver's home, got to see him work and talk with him over tea. The things he does by hand is just amazing.

We then went down the road to visit a ceramics maker. We got to go back in his shop and Rick picked his brain over some tea from hand made cups
He was very nice and talented and even gave us a pair of beautiful tea cups.
The next visit was a metal worker- this was a little thing he made that had some church sayings in the metal
The "Honesty Shop"- this store is stocked with some snacks and odds and ends and the whole premise is that you are honest and put your money in a hole in a big container. There is absolutely nobody in the store running it, and watching you- totally on your own. Seems like a nice idea- except for the sign on the wall showing the large recent deficit in things taken versus money put in the container. Haha- I guess it isn't the most practical business model.
Second ceramic make that we visited. His work was really impressive with large pots and cookware.
Rick found a huge old sword and liked to pretend he was in a kung-fu movie.
