Yuanlin- Ershui

So we are now in Yuanlin- which is a much smaller town, and have been traveling to other small towns and villages around it. This was all actually part of where Rick was during his mission and he has been super excited to be seeing the same sites and sounds and food.
This small village of Ershui just consists of a few main streets and then is surround by miles and miles of rice fields and other crops. We were the only white person anywhere to be seen and are openly stared at where ever we go. It is pretty funny when people will talk about us in Chinese, thinking we don't understand, and then Rick will respond back. All of the people just gawk at Rick when this white guy speaks "so good Chinese". We rented some bikes for the morning and rode through the country side.

Rick had to explain to me how rice fields work because I had know idea- but I think they are very pretty and green :) If you'd like a detailed explanation, I am sure Rick would be more than happy to give it to you later;)

This picture doesn't give justice to just how the rice fields go on and on as far as the eye can see.

Lisa crouching like a little rice field worker.

A picture with our bikes at the side of the road with a temple and pagoda in the background.

Lots of traditional Chinese looking people since we were in a more rural area- all of the older people had the field worker hats on

This was the main street of the village. I know it doesn't look like a village with this street compared to what you'd expect- but this was one of the few streets and is classified as a village by the Taiwanese definition. Still much busier streets than American suburbs and towns.

Asian kids are sooo cute!!!! These little boys were sitting in front of us at the bus station (where we spend a lot of time) and I just thought they were adorable.
