Cutest baby ever? Why yes!

For those who think that this blog has become baby obsessed- well, it's true! Sorry.
You have to understand though- it is dead of winter (and cold and flu season) here in Michigan, so we are basically at home all day. Also, all of our family is across the country and unable to come out and see Sophie right now. So, some people are demanding more pictures (uhhmm- grandparents). I promise some day there will be other things on here, maybe not too soon though. haha.

Sophia is becoming so much more alert and interactive. She is starting to smile and loves looking around at everything. She can get pretty distracted at times.

She is also getting more and more chubby. Love it!
Last check - 10lbs3oz!

Flailing all over! That explains all the kicking when she was in me.

I tried to get a good close up of her eyes to show her eye color. It is a stormy gray blue right now- with a darker ring on the outside (like her mommy). They are beautiful in the sunlight.

Tummy time! Sophie doesn't love tummy time, but she does so good at it. Lifting up her head like a champ, and she rolled over from her tummy to her back for the first time today! Only 5 weeks- boyaah.

One Month Old!

Okay, so I know I just posted her 4 week old pictures, but today was officially her one month birthday- so I have to post these too- right?!
Sorry, I am obsessed with my little girl, I know.

Some of my favorite things about Sophia right now:
1) Breastfeeding her- I love this time together, I really really do. Even though it can be inconvenient at times, I really love just being so close and intimate with her for so many hours of the day. I like to read out loud to her while she nurses, and I love to watch her stare at me while I do.
2) Watching her sleep- it is definitely what she does most, and I love hearing her little breaths next to me while she sleeps and looks so peaceful.
3) When she smiles- alright, it might just be because she is passing gas, but she does it (smiles that is) a lot, and it lights up my world.
4) Hiccups- this girl is the hiccup queen- all the time, seriously
5) She loves her Daddy- almost every time Rick changes her, she either pees or poos right in between diapers and goes all over the changing pad. It is really only when Rick changes her- I think it is because she loves getting that little bit of extra time with Daddy. haha.

I wanted to get some of her cute little nakey self.
The beginnings of a very chubby baby- I can feel it. I mean, look at those rolls.

Just to close, I had to get a picture of the butt of these pants. Ruffle butt!

4 Weeks Old

Ms. Sophie turned 4 weeks old on Sunday- yay! Here's her commemorative photos for the occasion. The time has just flown by. She just keeps getting bigger and bigger! I love this little hoodie outfit a friend gave her :D

She yawns A LOT- oh my cute sleepy baby.

Rick and Sophia being gangsta'

And we all went for our first family walk- it was in the snow, so we really didn't make it that far, but it was fun!

Snow Day!

It has been snowing lots here in Michigan, and we decided Sophia needed an introduction to it. So we found this snow suit (which is way too big for her) and took a short trip out in to our backyard.

I told you it was waaay too big! Her arms were too little for the sleeves, so they're just resting on her chest. And her little legs reach about half way down.

But she was cozy!
Daddy-daughter snow angels! Rick accidentally splashed some snow on Sophie's face- not happy baby. Sometimes I think we are cruel to have so much fun with our little baby.

Our other child- Petra. She loves the snow (obviously). This is probably one of the best pictures of her we have because it is all white around her. Black dogs are almost impossible to get a good picture of! She has been a very good big sister, albeit a bit starved for attention lately.
I love our big backyard

Happy Snow Baby

3 Weeks Old

Can I begin to express how much I am currently loving life? Spending each day at home with my little daughter is a greater joy than I would have ever expected. I love to just watch her developing so fast- she is starting to focus her eyes on objects, and shakily starting to reach at them (more like swing her arm in their general direction). There are still afternoons, and definitely middle of the nights, where we are both tired and cranky. But all in all, what better job could there be?

Sophie's First Bath

Hurray! The umbilical cord is off! Time for a bath. Please excuse the very tired looking mommy.

Apparently Sophia was thirsty.

Sophie loves it when Daddy dries her off - you can tell by the crying.

Dry and warm at last.

Sophia Turns Two Weeks

These are a few days old, but here are some pictures of Sophia on her two-week birthday. I love this little dress, too bad she'll only be able to wear it for another couple of weeks.

I think it's cute, but Sophia is not a fan of the headband :).
