Day with the Arts

We had a wonderful afternoon enjoying some of the arts in Detroit.

This amazing outdoor installation is a couple of blocks of abandoned/run down houses that have been turned into art.

It's called the Heidelberg Project.

I love it! It's so fun and different, and the whole purpose was to show the possibilities of regrowth and repurpose in Detroit.

Sophia danced the whole way through and had so much fun.

One of the sad things has been people purposely torching some of the houses.

This was one of the most well known ones that was covered in stuffed animals.

We're part of history! haha

We got to go to the DIA afterwards. 

Sophia got to draw in the galleries, and then we saw a flute concert, and a beautiful puppet show of Cinderella. 

Such a fun day with the arts in Detroit!
