The more I explore of Detroit, the more I just love it.
I love seeing the reminiscent glory of the city's golden era in the buildings downtown.
Now so many of them are empty and abandoned due to the city's decline. But in a strange turn, it has saved some of the most spectacular buildings from the 1920s from being sacrificed as the time has passed.
The Guardian Building is no exception.
Built 6 months before the Great Depression, it was built to be one of the most beautiful banking buildings in the thriving metropolis.
One of the five original Tiffany clocks in the world.
Entire entryway covered in tile.
Just the attention to detail is amazing.
And I love this era of architecture because of all the detail to every little thing.
Like the elevator signs.
The original banks motto
Detail down to the elevators and lamps
Amazing hall with a beautiful mural of Michigan at the end.
Outdoor entrance
We ended our time here walking around and having lunch for a bit, and the conversation turned to how much we love it here.
Who'd have thunk?
Not your typical scenes of Detroit.
