Rick's birthday was this last week- he's 31! (gasp)
And man, did we do it right.
What did he choose to do for his 31st birthday???
A foam/mud 5K obstacle course!
(crazy)
Here's our (clean) before picture
Pre-race warm up
(he can't be too old if he can do that, right?)
#spiderman
PUMPED for our race with our sweet tattoos
FoamFest
We couldn't get pictures at most of the obstacles- but just google that show 'Wipe Out' and you'll have an idea of what it was like.
Here are a few from the inflatable balloon gauntlet.
That is me next to Rick, so gracefully, flipping out of the muddy water.
MUD RUN!
He looks so happy, doesn't he?
Me? Mostly cold.
If this isn't love, I don't know what is...
Okay- the gigantic foam slip 'n slide was fun.
Victory!!!
We did it!!!
We were happy (and very dirty)
After a nap and a good scrub down, we headed to a Tiger's game at Comerica Park
By the way- every event in Detroit has classic cars at it. Rick had to get his next to the most classic of all. The Delorean.
All of us ready to cheer on the Tigers!
Sophia showing off her Tiger spirit!
Her first view of the big field...
...along with her shirt's namesake playing!
This stadium is so nice.
Ferris Wheel and Carousel.
Sorry Dodgers- Detroit's got you beat on this one.
Our super high seats
Sophia actually loved it, and lasted 5 innings.
But let's be honest, she was mostly there for the Cracker Jacks and Lemonade.
Our little Tiger-lovin' family
She especially loved the tiger statues in front
Next stop was (arguably) the BEST food in Detroit-
Slow's BBQ (as featured on Food Network, and our plates)
And a stop at our favorite bakery for a giant cookie rounded off the fun filled day.
And what's a birthday without a real cake...
...and a real fire hazard?!
Well, I'll say this.
As Rick get's older, his birthday's just get hotter (and more dangerous).
