DaVinci Code-esque 7/19/09

So, Rick and I are a couple of nerds- and so we couldn't go around Paris without doing a little DaVinci Code. First stop, St. Sulpice.

St Germaine- the oldest church in Paris. You could see alot more of the medieval symbology.

The two opposite rose windows- notice the inverted pyramids- Rick caught it

Little observations of Paris- sidewalk cafes with chalkboard menus

The metro and cool metro signs- we used it ALOT

Used book shop on the street

Open air market

Butcher

Fresh spices for sale

Little boulangeries and patisseries to buy yummy sandwiches and pastries

We went to Pierre Hermes- one of the top choclatiers in Paris- Rick was on cloud 9. Here are some Macarons- no equivalent in the States. Delicious.

Chateau de Vincennes- a real fortress on the edge of Paris. Here is the outer wall and mote.

The Chapel and main fortress

Complete with drawbridge

We went to the Parc Floral de Paris- just lots of families chilling in the park

Rick with his gourmet chocolates

We went out to see the City of Lights at night. The Louvre was beautiful all lite up.

And Rick found the Rose line

Obviously pretty stoked

Parisian street light and street signs

The Arc du Triomphe- what a wonderful trip.
