Don't call it Frisco

After our week at the beach with our family, we decided to head north to San Francisco for a few days.
We had SUCH a fantastic time, and it was just so beautiful.

We made our way there driving up the coast on the PCH

Entering Cambria, you can see all the mist starting to form

Made a stop at Elephant Seal beach

The cliffs along the PCH up by Big Sur are some of the most beautiful places I have ever seen. Every time we go, I just can't get over it.

The water was just such an unreal blue...

First stop was the Monterey Bay Aquarium.
Sophia was besides herself with joy.

Got to touch lots of fun sea animals

And pretend to be a terrifying barnacle.

It's been said that going to an aquarium with Rick is akin to the bat ray/school teacher in Finding Nemo...

Sophia's favorite part was the Jelly Fish

I love the seahorses

They're just so weird...

Next morning starts the tour 'de triumph of Frisco
First stop was the Palace of the Arts

Just so gorgeous

The detail on it was amazing.
I loved the women at the tops of the columns

Sophia loved running and dancing through this place

Little Rick in the big rotunda

Going across the Golden Gate bridge

Just beautiful with the fog rolling in

Next stop was Muir Woods

Loved the huge redwoods

They called part of this trail the "Cathedral" and asked everyone to be quiet.
It was wonderful.

Feeling the moss

Back over the bridge- and it looked like this.
Can you spot the bridge?

We stopped in Golden Gate Park at the California Academy of Sciences

Rick and Sophia so happy to be on a Galapagos tortoise

Staring down the shark...
I love this picture

Japanese teahouse

This whole park is just awesome.
On Sundays the close down most of the roads to cars so you just have bikers, etc.

Smelling the roses in the rose gardens

And I was BEYOND excited to have a picnic dinner in Alamo Park,
or how anybody raised in the 90s knows it-
where they filmed the title sequence of Full House!

The beautiful old houses- the Painted Ladies

They are so detailed, it's amazing

View of the city

Raced back over to Presidio Park to catch the sunset

The city and Alcatraz

Walking into the fog

So beautiful

Next morning started nice and early on the BART

Excited to be at Pier 39

Sophia loved all the sea lions

View of Alcatraz

Were such tourists and took a bay boat tour- SO worth it!

AMAZING views of the bridge

Alcatraz

View of the city and Bay Bridge

Lunch with the BEST sourdough bread ever!

Loved the factory

Fisherman's wharf

Checking out what's for lunch

The chocolate factory!

Rick wanted to eat it ALL!

The original soda shop

Have to ride the trolleys!

View from the top of Lombard St

Sophia's face does not match our enthusiasm...

Highlight for Rick?
Chinatown!

It was like being right back in Taiwan

Loved the detail on the lamp post

Wok Shop

Yummy yummy food was had

Last stop at the deYoung Museum

Beautiful views from the tower

Loved the art

Espcially a chance to see some real Oldenburg!

Rick said the end was actually pointy!

BIG apples

We just had such a great time- love you San Francisco!
