Sophia- June Recap

Another fun month of Summer gone by!
Favorite recent things about Sophia
-Gasp!- Sophia started doing this little 'gasp!' noise when she's excited about something. For example: Me: "When we go to Costco, we can get a hotdog!" Sophia: "Gasp!!"
-Sassy-miss: She's definitely gotten more independent and sassy this last month. She even puts her hands on her hips when she needs to emphasize a point.
-Grump face: she makes this pout face when she doesn't like something that is hilarious. I guess in general she's just much more expressive.
-"Sophia Story": I started making up stories about her at bedtime, and now she asks for them all the time. It usually just consists of her and a friend going somewhere and something silly happening, but she loves it! She always asks for a "Sophie story".
-Little driver: She LOVES to pretend to drive. She says "No, I drive" when we get in the car, and then gets upset when I tell her no. She sneaks into the driver seat as fast as she can and fiddles with all the buttons. I tell her she can't drive until she's 16, and she just pouts, "I'm not 16!" Sad baby.
-Photog: Sophia loves taking photos, probably because she's bombarded by me always taking her photo. She sees me use our nicer camera with the old-school view finder. So when she takes pictures with my phone, she puts it right up to her eye. I often find about 30 photos taken by her on my phone. Mostly of her fingers on the lens.
-"I'm Smart": we've always made an effort to complement Sophia on things in addition to physical attributes (typical little girl complement=you're so cute!) So we often say "You're so smart" "You are kind" "You are brave" (thanks The Help)- and now it's paying off! She has started saying those things about herself, and it makes my heart swell with pride. I want her to have confidence in her true self, and this is the beginning of it. Love it.
-"Get back up": in addition to her self confidence, she's picked up that when she falls, she says out loud "I get back up again!" It's so cute.

All in all, our summer is shaping up to be wonderful and fun!

Did I mention that she's started making silly faces in photos all the time now?
She takes after her Aunt Heidi

I just wanted one to remember her cute little feet forever.

Yay, a smiley picture

Talking to our awesome neighbor John.
Sophia LOVES him, and always wants to go visit him to say hi.
This picture reminded me of Wilson in Home Improvement- haha

And our day ended like this...

I love her so much.
