Kensington Park- XC Skiing!

There was some nice snow this last weekend, so we hopped on it, and decided to go have an adventure...

Cross-country Skiing!

Neither of us have ever been XC Skiing before, so we weren't sure what to expect, but we both absolutely loved it!

Strapped Sophia on...

...and we were off!

Such a beautiful day.
XC skiing is can be very peaceful and cathartic.
Being out in nature, with just the silence of the fresh snow.

Beautiful frozen lakes.

After we had a quick lunch at the 'lodge'
(I LOVE Sophie in her snow pants- btw)

Then we went sledding!
Sophia wasn't sure what to expect, because she'd never done downhill sledding before.
She was a bit nervous at first, but had fun.

Here we go!

Happy baby!

And Rick decided to go down the BIG toboggan run. Geez- you can not appreciate how big this hill was in the photo.
I would describe his experience as "National Lampoons: Christmas Vacation"-esque.
I'll leave it at that.

Super fun! We can't wait for more snow to go and do it again!
Who'd have ever thought these Californians would say that?!
