And so the tradition continues! Carpinteria every August since I've been born. It was a whole other experience having my own little one there this year. Not as much sleeping in and lounging around the beach, but still such a great time to see family and relax in one of the coolest little beach towns ever.
Pretty Aunt Jaci with a disgruntled looking Sophia
With Cousin Miriam
Hanging out at the beach with Oma- they shop at the same hat store ;D
Sophia liked to wake up at 6 am on our little vacation (not horrible I suppose when you consider the 3 hour time difference). So we threw her on and took walks down the beach early in the misty morning.
Love seeing all the early morning sea life- all those things you think are rocks are actually seals
Scientist Rick would explain all of the interesting sea creatures and their functions...
... Sophia wasn't all the interested in the science lesson.
All the Wolf Cousins
My little baby loves to swim in the pool! We'd usually go there after the beach everyday, and when she'd see the pool she'd get all excited and start kicking.
Carpinteria tradition #27- Rock Painting!
This was by far the biggest turn out for rock painting ever!
The lovely results
It would have been Grandma's 94th Birthday while we were there. We always celebrated her birthday at Carpinteria- it was her tradition. So we all wrote happy birthday messages to her on balloons and let them go at sunset. Happy Birthday Grandma!
All in all- a great trip! Can't wait to do it again next year!
I took a lot more pictures than would reasonably fit here, so all the rest are on Facebook if you care to glance :D
