Saturday with Henry Ford

I got to watch these cutie pies for the morning, and we had a blast at the Henry Ford Museum this morning. They word themselves out running around.
First things first- let's pretend to be a hotdog.

What's a trip to Henry Ford without practicing some mechanic skills?

Quick ride.
Logan was very serious about driving.

These kids were so excited to get to eat lunch in the diner car...

...sitting at the counter on the 'spin-y' stools.

Practicing paper airplane flying skills

And of course, the trains. Sophia sat and talked with this guy for like 20 minutes about the train.

What a fun morning!

October Recap

October!
One of the best months in the MidWest- fall, harvest, halloween.
Some of my favorite things about Sophia this last month:

1-Birthday wishes: Sophia is all about birthdays. She loves them. And she knows hers is coming up, and talks about it all the time. "I'm turning 3 in December!" Whenever I ask what she wants for her birthday her reply is always "a happy owl!" A happy owl? I have no idea what that means. But she's been saying it for months. I guess I better start looking for a an owl.

2- Little artist: she's gotten more and more into painting lately. She'll sit and paint forever. She prefers watercolors. And she just figured out how to draw a happy/frowning face.

Painting in the tub

3-Big Ham: Sophia has never been shy. And now she is the biggest ham when we go out with people. She loves to dance and sing and when they clap for her she takes a bow. I've got a goofy one on my hands.
Her cheesing it up in the middle of the photo at our MOMS club halloween party

Yep. Ham.

4- Potty training- and on that note, we've taken major strides on the potty training front. The key: bribery. Chocolate chips my friends. Works like a charm.

5-Sweet heart: Sophia has her moments, but on the whole is a sweet heart. She loves to help and make other people happy. I hope that is a trait she always keeps up.
We went to a nursing home to visit the residents. Sophia had so much fun dancing and playing for them. And gave them all hugs before we left. It was so sweet.

6-PLEEEAAASSSEEE! Sophia started asking please while doing this...
... I have NO idea where she learned that. But oh geez.

So this autumn light was just too beautiful to pass up.
Got some fun photos playing in the leaves.

Love her.

And love Fall.

Chicago!

Chicago!
The Windy City!
Chi-town!

We made a quick weekend trip to Chicago and had a blast in the Windy City.
While Rick was doing work things, Sophia and I explored the Natural History Museum- so cool.
Sophia's currently in love with dinosaurs, so she was in heaven.

Beautiful building

Sophia in a dinosaur footprint.
My little-foot.

The best part was the evolution exhibit.
So well done and fun.

LOVED this quote and display.
I think Rick wants this in our house now...

Part of an ancient Egyptian tomb

What does the fox say?
(sorry, I couldn't help myself)

All bundled up

Walking down Michigan Ave
There's something about cities that is so exciting, that I just love.

Eating our own weight in pizza...

The iconic Cloud Gate
(or as I call it- the big silvery bean thingy)

So beautiful at night

Love the city at night

Got to hit up the aquarium

And the planetarium too-
Rick's got the whole world in his hand...
