May shower...

Another baby shower for another great friend with a little girl on the way. We tried a vintage-y type theme.

Instead of games we made flower headbands for the baby to be.

It's fun :D

Welcome home.

Never a better welcome than this...

16 months

I know it's a few days late- but here's the 16 month round-up.
Sophia continues to be a bundle of fun. She makes us laugh non-stop.
1- Jib-jab: Sophia loves to talk, whether or not it is real words. Some of her real words lately though are
buh-bye (vs she used to just say bye), boom (typically accompanied by a fist bump- thanks to Rick), shoe (she LOVES shoes and always wants to put them on), Petra, thank you, please, yay!
2-A few of my favorite things: when Sophie is excited about something she makes an almost monkey noise (eh-eh-eh) and jumps/kicks her feet (it's very cute). Things that she gets very excited about include bananas, letting the dog out, going to the gym, and any time she sees the swing in the backyard.
3- Walking: She's sooo close it's almost crazying (yeah, that's not a word). She walks perfectly with just holding one finger. It's just her confidence I think. Come on little one!
4- Little reader: we bought her a little person table, and she loves sitting in the chairs and reading her books. She'll sit there for a good 30 minutes straight (which is like forever in toddler time). Her favorite books are the flip-up books (like Where's Spot).
5- Organizer: Sophia loves to put her toys away. We are in to the Montessori method, so all of the toys have a designated spot where they go, and she loves to take her blocks out and then put them all back. One by one. It's pretty cute (in a slightly-OCD way).

We played in our breakfast nook on a bright sunny day. Here's Sophia toying with my emotions by finger walking.

Longingly staring at her swing outside.

Sophia LOVES oranges. Especially in her little chair.

They are so sweet together.

Easter

Sophia's face in this kills me- 'what, you think you could look better than me in these ears?'

The basket

The curiosity

The revelation that it's new toys!

We had a whole bunch of people over that afternoon for a dinner. We had a fun Easter egg hunt in our backyard.

Quick! Over that way!

Collecting the goods

Sharing the goods.

Happy Easter all!

Bunnyville

The Zoo had an Easter themed day. We went with a couple of friends and had a grand time. Here's Sophia with the complimentary bunny ears- she was not such a fan.

So they got passed on to Daddy :)

In the butterfly house, in her favorite seat- Daddy's shoulders.

Sophia got little bunny whiskers on her- Rick had to hold her hands while they did it because she kept trying to taste the paint brush.

Cute little bunny

I've pointed out before how Peacocks freely roam the zoo. With Spring starting, they are getting their beautiful feathers in full.

And we actually saw one doing his little mating dance and everything. It was very cool.

It's not easy being a bunny and having so much fun.

Sending an Easter surprise.

I sent a little Easter surprise to all of our family- an egg in the mail! Included was a little Easter photo with a note, some fun stickers for the little ones, and yummy jelly beans. Nothing huge.

But I think it will be so fun when they get this in the mail!
The post office worker was so entertained when I came in to mail these. And so were all the other people in line.
It's no fun being far away from family during different holidays. So this is one small way to make it feel like we're together no matter where we are.

Let the games begin!

You may be thinking- another party?! Yep!
The Hunger Games movie came out, and I just couldn't help myself. We had a fabulously fun girls night to go see the movie, with a pre-movie party at my house.
Pinterest made me go (self admittedly) a little overboard :)

The Tesserae: "Each time you take an item of food, another entry in to the Hunger Games is required"
Just like the book/movie- we had a Hunger Games drawing. On top of each time you took food, we had a trivia contest. But unlike the book/movie, the winner didn't have to fight others to the death- but got a yummy prize instead.

Only those who have read the book/seen the movie will probably get my punny food references.

It was a great night and another fun party!
