Vaccinations, schm-accinations

The terrifying 2-month checkup (and hence, the first vaccinations) arrived.
I was sooo scared and worried- to an absolutely ridiculous amount.
I was sure Sophia would be traumatized. I brought everything I could
think of to the appointment- blankets, pacifer, toy, tylenol, benydryl.
And then the moment came, she got poked, she cried for like 2 seconds before I picked her up
and...
that was it?!
Seriously, she was smiling like two minutes later. These pictures were taken right once we got home because I could barely believe she was so fine! And she has been- a bit extra sleepy, but otherwise fine. Goes to show you that she is much braver than her mommy.

2 Months Old!!!

Sophia- the big 2 month-er!
Some of my favorite things about Sophia right now:
- she likes to eat her hand all the time~ slober, slober
- her little chunky leg and arm and everywhere rolls~ they are growing daily!
- her SMILE~ heart melting
- she is inquisitive~ staring at everything possible and taking it all in, I would call her 'excited to be alive'
- bathtime~ she loves bath time, lots of kicking and playing with a rubber duck is involved
- She holds her hands together all the time~ it's adorable
- watching her with Rick~ she thinks he is sooo funny, but he's really just goofy ;) Watching him put her to bed is so funny
#1- sometimes when I am nursing her she gets distracted and wiggly, and I start getting frustrated and tell her to focus, then she looks at me from the side with a big smile and bats her eyes, like saying 'mom, you can't stay mad at me, I'm too cute'- she's right.

She's getting soo long- a lot of her 0-3 clothes are too short for her already.

So Excited!!!

Sophia LOVES her mobile- she sits under it and follows it over and over again as it goes back and forth. She starts squealing and kicking and flapping all over the place. This is a taste of her excitement. She's just a blur.

Her and Petra- a comparative study. Sophie out-weighs Petra, but isn't as big. I suppose you could describe her as more dense in mass?

First time at Church.

Sophia had her first trip to Church this last Sunday- it was an adventure!
First, with Rick's new calling, he is gone by 7am- so I had to get her and myself all ready alone. It shouldn't be stressful, but it is! On top of that it snowed the night before, so I had to dig out the car in stilettos- now that's a real mom. But somehow, by divine intervention, we made it on time!
She was so curious about everything going on, that she didn't want to nap. So by the third hour- she was exhausted and slept for like 4 hours that afternoon. It was so nice to be at Church all together again- and of course everyone was admiring her cuteness, but who can blame them?

For those who think that this blog has become baby obsessed- well, it's true! Sorry.
You have to understand though- it is dead of winter (and cold and flu season) here in Michigan, so we are basically at home all day. Also, all of our family is across the country and unable to come out and see Sophie right now. So, some people are demanding more pictures (uhhmm- grandparents). I promise some day there will be other things on here, maybe not too soon though. haha.

Sophia is becoming so much more alert and interactive. She is starting to smile and loves looking around at everything. She can get pretty distracted at times.

She is also getting more and more chubby. Love it!
Last check - 10lbs3oz!

Flailing all over! That explains all the kicking when she was in me.

I tried to get a good close up of her eyes to show her eye color. It is a stormy gray blue right now- with a darker ring on the outside (like her mommy).They are beautiful in the sunlight.

Tummy time! Sophie doesn't love tummy time, but she does so good at it. Lifting up her head like a champ, and she rolled over from her tummy to her back for the first time today! Only 5 weeks- boyaah.
