happy birthday Rick!

It was this fantastic guys' birthday.

Reason 1,000,000 he's the best:

he was working all morning on his research, and he still wanted to make his own birthday cake.

And it was WAY better than anything I would have made.

He's the best.

Popsicles

We spent the morning riding our bike 9 miles around the lake at Kensington.

Seems like a popsicle is the least of a reward we deserve.

Sophia's school had a Father's Day picnic, and it is always so fun to see her with her little school friends.

She is one of the most social kids I've ever met, and this is her "best friend ever", June.

They totally look and act alike, and it's absolutely adorable.

Date Night: DIA

Super fun date night down in the city.

We tried the new Gold Cash Gold and were NOT disappointed.

I would have never tried chicken mousse and it was amazing!

We then hit up the DIA for the Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera exhibit.

It was about their time working in Detroit, and it was so fascinating.

Love this place.

Spring Recital

Sophia's preschool does a concert every Spring.

They work on these songs for MONTHS.

She has been singing them for so long, it's ridiculous.

But it all paid off, and was absolutely adorable.

Park Season!

It's so nice out now!

I love how such a simple place can bring such happiness.

The Last of the Wolf's is MARRIED!

My big (and only) brother got married!

We got to go out to the wedding, and it was so much fun to spend time all together.

So happy for this guy and his beautiful new wife.

Rehearsal dinner

We also got to play while back in Utah a bit.

Back to Michigan!

Caught on the red eye- so Sophia chose to run laps (literally over a mile) up and down the moving sidewalks.

Such a great trip!

Go Tigers!

We scored some free tickets to a Tiger's game, and it was a beautiful warm night to enjoy it.

Such a beautiful view of the city. Love this stadium.

And they now have these gourmet hot dogs- they were SO good.

A thunder storm rolled in later on, but the game went on!

Best Neighbors

You know you have great neighbors when your 4 year old draws them in your family portrait.

So lucky to have all the amazing neighbors we do.

Flower Day

Every year Eastern Market hosts Flower Day, and we finally made it up early enough to see it!

You could smell the flowers from blocks away- it was amazing.

15 ACRES of flowers.

Amazing.

A very merry un-birthday!

Sophia came up with the idea for a crepe un-birthday party, and I said- why not!

We cracked out the decorations and went for it.

No regrets.

Mother's Day

Being a mom is the best!

And I wouldn't trade it for anything.

This little girl made it a wonderful Mother's Day.
