Dancing Under the Stars

We went swing dancing with a live Big Band downtown under the Fischer Building.

It was so fun and just awesome!

Sometimes I really love being in a city!!

Race for the Cure!

We joined some of my co-workers (and several other thousand people) to Race for the Cure downtown! 

It was beautiful morning for a great cause!

Sophia had such a blast she's been asking to go again.

Sophia loves to look at the street art downtown.

I mean, you're town isn't cool unless it has a giant whale painting.

True story:

We accidentally got shipped these Spider-Man pajamas from Amazon, and they told us to keep them.

And Sophia LOVES them. Like never wants to take them off.

At least it's good to know we're safe with a super hero at home.

Therapy.

It's been a rough couple of days, weeks, and months.

But the best therapy is curling up with this cutie.

It makes everything alright.

Memorial Day Weekend

We spend Memorial Day weekend at Greenfield Village and had so much fun!

They do a Civil War re-enactment every year, and every year it's a blast.

And these little girls literally followed the old time-y band around to dance and "conduct" them.

A perfect beautiful day!

We spent the rest of the weekend at the beach and enjoying the beautiful Spring that's finally arrived!

Happy Anniversary!

We were so sick on our anniversary, so we're celebrating a week late- but in style!

We had a wonderful brunch at The Whitney- a Victorian mansion, and it was just beautiful and DE-LI-CIOUS.

So happy to have been hanging out with my best friend for 9 years.

A Day in Toronto!

We felt like fleeing the country and went to Toronto for the day to see our favorite Canadians! 

We've been friends with Jeremy so long, and now our kiddos are friends too!

What a fun day!

Date Night at the DIA

One of my favorite places is the DIA, and on Friday nights they stay open late and have concerts.

It's such a beautiful building (love the chandeliers).

And the Brazilian Jazz Pianist was phenomenal.

Escape from a cold.

We are finally coming out of our sick cacoon, and there was some sun too!

So we headed to the zoo!

Sick girls.

We've been so lucky, and have never had to take Sophia into the doctor for a sick visit. 

Well our luck ran out, and Sophia got sick and developed into an asthma attack and I got a ear infection and my ear drum burst at the same time.

And did I mention it was our anniversary weekend.

Oh well.

So scary to have this little girl pale and barely able to keep her eyes open.

We're doing better now. 

Saturday in Detroit

We spent a lovely Saturday morning in downtown Detroit.

I just love spending the day down here. 

We got some delicious food at Eastern Market.

And Rick took us on a tour of the Medical School.

I think Sophia will fit right in once she gets a booster seat.

Always glad when Grandpa (and Grandma) comes...

Grandma and Grandpa Smith came to visit for a weekend and we got to have lots of fun!

The first place we took them was the Henry Ford and Greenfield Village!

Sophia loved showing them her car.

We also toured the Rouge River Factory

And of all the historical items we saw that day, this was the most interesting to Sophia...
