Kids Jams!!!

Friends who jam together, stay together.
We'll miss our buddy, Finn!

This party is going to be off the hook!

So, we are kind of obsessed with the show Arrested Development.
Quoting it consists of roughly 50% of our daily conversation.
And, since we compulsively throw parties for no apparent reason- we couldn't help but throw a Arrested Development party for the new season (after being off the air for 7 years!) premiere.
So, if you don't know the show (which I highly recommend) you won't get any of the references here.
But trust me, they're awesome.

Everyone got a 'hand'ful of popcorn while we watched the premier

Right next to our spare bowl of candy beans.

Lots of blue paint and cutoffs.
Yeah, we got a guy like that.

And that's why you always leave a note...
(all our notes are our favorite quotes from the show)

The spread...
I'll let the menu speak for itself.

Notice the Bluth Frozen Bananas, and bag of Dead Dove.

Sophia acting the part of Lucille for the evening...
(don't worry- there wasn't any alcohol in there ;D)

Our game for the night

It was most definitely played while listening to
'The Final Countdown' by Europe

Harder than it looked!

Our George Michael and Lindsay

The family of Never Nudes (it's exactly what it sounds like)

We are ridiculous and apparently have way to much time on our hands.
And I love it.

Memorial Day!

We had a fun Memorial Day with perfect weather for the parade

Sophia LOVES parades, she was so excited to go all morning

And she got this flag, which she whacked me with about 10 times.
Yippie!

The obligatory fire truck

Yeah- our town has a calliope in its' parade.
Booyah.

And child-biker gangs

The rest of the day was spent picnicking and making merry.
Thank you to all the service men and women out there!
Happy Memorial Day!

Saying bye-bye

We have made some amazing friends here in Michigan.
Lots of them are like us- young transient families.
The sad part about that, is we all ARE transient, and that we all eventually move.
4 family's we have become close with are moving away, so we threw a bbq to give them a good send off.

Fun afternoon at the park

our lives. haha.

special ladies to me

we even had face-painting!

I am grateful that we can at least always keep up with each other online now days.
We'll miss our friends!

My day with daddy...

Rick gets to hang out with Sophia on the days that I work.
I get fun pictures from him like this.
It makes me jealous that I'm not playing too, but it also makes me super happy that Rick is such a fun daddy.

Hand in hand with the fun daddy time comes the first pair of skinned knees!
A small ridiculous thing to be excited about? but so definitive of childhood.

Rick is totally the better lunch-time chef.
He always makes Sophia these elaborate, cute lunches.
Here's his curry and rice creation.

Visiting Mommy at work, and got to sit in the Beaumont One chopper!
