BalloonFest 2010

Michigan in the Summer is all about festivals! And we are trying to hit up a few. First up- BalloonFest! A festival where they lit up 48 hot air balloons at once! It was so cool. There was also a carnival and fireworks to top it off.

These were like hamster balls, but for kids and in the water. It was hilarious- these kids kept falling and then would get exhausted and lay there until someone fished them out. Cruel and hilarious.

Funnel Cake!!! Yum, yum, yum.

Spectacular fireworks right over us.

Where Have You Been? Just makin' a baby!

So, I have been absolutely absent from updating this for the last 2 months almost- sorry! But it was all for a good reason- I was busy being pregnant! Yep, we are expecting a little one- ETA: December 10th. I was soooo sick and tired during the 1st trimester, that I could barely do anything- including blog. But I am now 17 weeks, and have been feeling GREAT for the last few weeks! So, let's get back in to the swing of things :D Here are some pics of the baby to be.

Womens Conference 2010

Lisa went to Utah for a few days for Womens Conference. Got to see all the Family (minus one sister) and spend time taking cute pictures of all the nieces and nephew.

It was also Jen's Birthday!
Jen lives out on a farm in Spanish Fork- so I got some fun pictures of the girls outside.

The Capital of theses United States

Washington D.C.
Rick and I took a last minute trip to DC for a few days- beautiful spring days in the nations Capital. I love it every time I go there- and it reminds me that no matter what we believe- we are a great country.

A stop in Pittsburgh for the country's best sandwichs! Primanti Bros- been featured on FoodNetwork and Man vs. Food- soooo yummy

A LARGE sandwich- meat, coleslaw, and fries- the American way!

To the Capital! Rick showin' it who's boss.

Inside the Capital dome- so beautiful!

I've become obsessed with our new camera- so Rick gets our old little point-and-shot to show proof that I was there

Rick's first time on Capital Hill

Two nerds in DC? To the Library of Congress!

Sorry this is a bit blurry- but we weren't supposed to photograph the Gutenberg Bible so I had to take this really fast (note I didn't actually photograph the bible itself- I'm not destroying history)

In front of the Senate

The White House

Vietnam Memorial- this is my favorite memorial- the symbolism of the high polished stone to reflect yourself in to the names of the deceased.

Arlington National Cemetery

JFK Memorial

Appropriate ending to a wonderful trip- the DC Temple
