Futbol!

So, it is our last day in Iceland and we are walking in downtown Reykjavik, and we start seeing these orange people. First a few, then a few more, then they were everywhere! We come to find out that it was a World Cup Qualifiying match- Iceland versus Holland! The people were so in to it- check some of the Holland fans out. So Sarah and I got tickets and joined in the fun.

We wondered if their wives made the outfits- that would be an interesting conversation.

We fit right in.

Great game- a dream come true to be at a European soccer match. The crowd was more fun to watch than the teams. It was great.
What a way to end the trip!

"Graduation"

So I say "graduation" because technically I graduated with my Bachelor's in December, and Rick will finish his Master's in June- but we got to go through the pomp and circumstance, and walk across a stage with funny robes.
We did get to walk together, which was pretty awesome. It definitely was symbolic of the last several years where we've been working hard to get each other through school.
Rick's advisor, Dr. Lin, came and hooded Rick (snazzy robes, huh?)

It was a beautiful overcast day, with the flowers in bloom- time for photos!

Rick's Family
My neice, Hannah, was very excited for us- she is 4 and said that she is going to graduate from BYU someday. When I asked her what she wants to study, she said cheerleading :D
Lisa's Family
The proud parents

Rick's cool hood- very dignified...

...until Rick thought he looked like a wizard with it on his head.

The King and I

Rick and I got to go and see a living legend- B.B. King. He is the King of Blues, has done so much for American music, and is considered by many to be the greatest living guitarist in the world. He was amazing and very hilarious. I can just hope to be like that when I am 83.

Probably the most famous guitar in the world- Lucille.

Easter Times!

We got an unexpected few days off of work and decided to go get some sun in CA for Easter. We had a great time painting eggs and seeeing everyone. Here is our egg dying event. Jaden was very impressed with Rick's abilities.

Grandma Jennie's 91st Easter :)

As we were sitting around, my mom thought went and found her and my grandma's old nursing hats (with one extra for me)- so here is our 3 generations of nurses in the family. Too bad we don't get to wear the hats anymore, huh?

Jaden was a very good little prop child.
We had the traditional easter egg hunt in the backyard. Little Olivia is getting so big!
Jaden was not very keen to share though- he had to find all the eggs himself.

Grandma Bunny
Awww, what a happy little family.

We went with Heidi and Jaden down to Santa Monica to visit Matt. We took a walk down Venice Beach to see all the crazy people- eventually we decided to walk along the ocean though :)

Aloha from Maui!

Rick and I took a break from the cold depression of Utah and headed to Maui for a post-graduation rejuvanation. It was wonderful and beautiful beyond words! This is the view from our hotel room balcony.
Kite Surfers on the East side of Maui. You can't tell, but these swells are probably about 15-20 feet
Just another amazing sunset
At Makena Beach- ranked one of the best beach in the world- and I have to say I was quite impressed.
